Journal - Week 2

Dear Journal,......:)

Part 1. Reflections on Course Content

Though I would have liked to start like that, I won't. This week 2 seemed to be a lot busier, but very useful in regards to learning to research. I had a hard time picking a topic proposal. At submitted my topic, but once I replied to other students and read some of their topics I changed my mind. Now I see, the importance of the replies. For the library assignment, I researched our local campus library. It was simpler than I had anticipated. I called the librarian and was surprised to find my questions answered with such quickness. Almost as if she had been waiting for my call all day. I was impressed. The research part was a bit tasky. Because so many navigation's to go through it seemed endless. But once I narrowed done my subjects, it went smooth. I had a bit of a hard time knowing how to respond to some of the web research posts. Once I found some that I could relate to, it went easier.

Part 2. Applications to your Life

The assignments really helped boost my confidence on web researching. I use to only relay on Wikipedia and general Googling, (I know what have I been missing) but know I have a broader range and feel positive about it. With this new knowledge I think that I will succeed and progress in my grades. I am excited and looking forward to what else is in store for this class. I did notice that this class does require a lot more time. I like that not all assignments are due on the same date. I feel that by doing this it keeps the student more involved.
